The Human Voice
In the Human Voice Series, which includes eight concerts, we shall present major and well-known vocal works, such as Mozart's Requiem side by side with a new work commissioned from Joseph Bardanashvili, based on texts from the Kabbalic Zohar; Bach's famous Magnificat alongside a horn concerto by Zvi Avni, commissioned especially for this season by the Camerata; a mass by Schubert next to his symphony known as The Great; Haydn's cantata Ariadne at Naxos in a program with Salve Regina by Adolph Hasse and Jean-Féry Rebel's Les Éléments; a French-flavored evening featuring works by Lully, Ibert and Mozart (the "Paris Symphony"), alongside French Chansons; a Lied-centered evening featuring art songs by Brahms, Schubert, Schumann and Fauré, etc. etc. This series will feature first class choirs and soloists from Israel and abroad.
